Nose, goes, toes, rose….

Since starting grade one we have been learning all about Rhyming words. We have read lots of different books with rhyming words in them like: Mr McGee and the Blackberry Jam, Tough Ol Teddy, In my Backyard, Dragon in a Wagon, Mr McGee, Fox in Sock, Mr McGee goes to Sea and lots of others.

We have completed lots of rhyming activities from matching pictures and sentences to creating our very own class rhyming book.

On the Sesame Street website we found these excellent videos about rhyming words. In the first video see if you can hear all of the rhyming words. Click the blue writing below!

In this second video Bert and Ernie are playing a rhyming game. See if you can play the same sort of game with your family. Click the blue writing below to watch the video!

  1. The Cat in The Hat is a great story Taylah. My favourite Dr Seuss story is Fox in Socks. It has lots and lots of rhyming words. See if you can find all of the ‘an’ words in the poem.

  2. I really liked the Bert and Ernie rhyming song, my mum and I thought it was very funny especially when Ernie finds a word to rhyme with Hippopotamus.

  3. I tried the cooking game with the bears, I made a smoothie and salad, we watched Bert and Ernie I thought it was funny, I like the Sesame street website.

  4. Hi Ethan and Luka
I m glad you boys enjoyed the Sesame Street website. I was so excited when I found this website and couldn’t wait to share it with all of you. I thought the Bert and Ernie video was funny too and my favourite part was the same as yours. I wonder if you can think of other words that have no rhymes. I like that you included a rhyme in your comment too Luka, well done. Do you boys have a favourite Sesame street character?
