Show Don’t Tell

Over the last couple of days we have been speaking about creating strong visual images for those who read our writing. In order to do this we need to use concrete nouns and strong verbs as our main ingredient and adjectives as our seasoning. We also need to think about the five senses.

Tomorrow we are going to be practising these skills as we write about our imaginary climb of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Have a look at the following links and try and make some notes under the five senses headings: see, hear, smell, taste and touch.

You could also Google search images or look at any other websites that you think might be helpful.

Good Luck

I looked at all the videos and they told me so much! I also had a look at the website. But now I have lots of things on my page. With the Sydney Leg pages on our blogs, are we have meant to start our journal?
    Thanks from Kim.
